SPRING OUTFIT 5 - POP OF COLOUR

When you think of spring, what colours immediately come to mind? Probably pastel or lighter versions of colour. I swear, there’s some unwritten fashion handbook that states only pastel coloured items are acceptable for spring. I say fuck that unwritten book and you wear them bright, bold, rich colours! I mean, get extra crazy and do a pastel with a bold version of the same colour. You all know I love a colour on colour outfit.

I bought this beautiful fuchsia silk blouse from Dynamite’s spring collection last year. I adore the little details on this shirt, like the very subtle pleating around the collar, the cuffed button sleeves and again a very subtle puff on the shoulders. The rich bright pink colour was just the icing on the cake.

I wanted to make this outfit extra bold and pop even more, so instead of a plain pant or skirt, I decided to go with these high waisted black and white checkered paper bag pants. These were a hand me down from my sister and I’m not sure they’re supposed to be this high waisted. She’s taller than I am and they sort of hang to low on the crouch if I don’t wear them super high. You just gotta adapt, am I right? The pants come with a matching belt you tie up but I opted for a plain slim black belt for more “pop” and boldness. I liked how it broke up the pant from the shirt, and drew attention to my waist.

To keep the outfit fun I chose a slip-on pink suede sneaker type shoe. See, colour on colour! I’ve mentioned in previous posts that comfort for me is confidence and this outfit is definitely bringing both comfort and confidence!

Do you like to wear bold, or are you more reserved in you fashion choices?
