GRIEF IS NOT RESERVED FOR DEATH

Grief is not reserved for only those who have had a loved one die.

Grief can be over the demise of a relationship, the loss of a job, selling your childhood home, the ailing physical or mental health of someone you care deeply for, watching someone suffer through addiction.

There are many things in life that can cause us to grieve. Yes, the grief journey with death is different to navigate, but I think a lot of the stages of grief in each scenario can be similar. Shock. Denial. Bargaining. Anger. Sadness. And, sometimes acceptance. That's where I believe the scenarios differ. Eventually you can accept an ended relationship, a lost job, a new house.

Eventually. It takes time of course, but I'm not sure you can ever really accept a life taken to soon from your world.
